Announcing a new API authentication feature, OAuth 2.0 on our digital badging and credentials platform – ItsCredible!
One of the challenges that we have recently addressed is ensuring the safety of our APIs. Specifically, our previous API authentication method, which relied on API keys, did not provide the level of security that is necessary to protect the data of our customers. This issue was brought to our attention by iNeuron, one of our valued customers, who experienced difficulties while integrating with our platform.
For example, during the integration process, iNeuron, one of our customers, encountered issues with API keys being easily compromised, leading to security vulnerabilities and potential data breaches. In order to address these concerns and provide our customers with the highest level of security possible, we developed a new authentication method for our APIs: OAuth 2.0
OAuth 2.0 is a powerful and widely-used authentication standard that has been designed to provide enhanced security and protect the privacy of our users. Implementing this feature was a technically challenging process, as it required us to completely rework our API authentication system. However, we believe that the end result will be well worth the effort, as it will provide our users with the peace of mind that their data is safe and secure.
We believe that this new feature will be a valuable addition to our platform, and we hope that it will help our users to better manage and track their badging and credentialing efforts with confidence.
